oz brie cheese, sliced, per slider

cup green bean casserole, per slider

    Heat up turkey and green bean casserole in the microwave for about 30-60 seconds. Butter the outside of the dinner rolls or slider buns.

    Assemble sandwiches in following order: bread, brie, turkey, green bean casserole, fried onions, more cheese, bread.

    Heat skillet over medium heat and grill until bread is brown and toasted and cheese has started to melt. Flip and repeat on the other side. Serve hot!

But let’s think outside the box.I’m fairly certain I discovered a version of this recipe on one of my many Thanksgivings growing up. I don’t know about you, but green bean casserole is a staple on my family’s Thanksgiving table. To me, it’s the ultimate comfort food. Well, that and grilled cheese sandwiches. So why not combine them both?You can use slider rolls if you have them…or just some regular ol’ dinner rolls leftover from your Thanksgiving feast. Use any cheese you like, but I like Brie as it pairs well with mushrooms. (In fact, if your local grocery store sells mushroom Brie, go for that!) In hindsight, I would’ve added even more cheese – because when you’re making grilled cheese sandwiches, you can never have enough cheese.Serve hot. And then repeat the process over again – you’re probably gonna want seconds!

Easy Cheesy Green Bean Casserole

Mix soup, milk, pepper, Worcestershire, seasoned salt, garlic, cheese, and drained green beans.

Spray the casserole dish with a cooking spray Add the green bean mixture. Top with 2 cups French's French Fried onions

Cook at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until bubbly..

The green beans will thicken up as they cool.

This would make a great side dish for a potluck, Thanksgiving, or at any other meal at home. I think that everyone will enjoy this variation of the traditional green bean casserole with the addition of cheddar cheese. For this recipe, I would use healthy request cream of mushroom soup, skim milk, low sodium Worcestershire sauce, and reduced fat cheddar cheese. It would probably be a good idea to double the recipe.

Is it 2 or 4 cans of green beans?

Looks yummy! I have a question about the amount of green beans. Is that 2 cans or 4 cans. I see 2 (14-ounce) 2 (14 ounce) cans green beans, drained

Green Bean Casserole

I'll be honest, green beans are my favorite vegetable, but as a child, I never liked the casserole. I'm not sure if it was because of the mushroom soup, or the texture, but it was just never a side dish I wanted. I'm pretty sure the rest of my family felt that way, as I don't recall seeing it on our table at holidays.

As an adult, I discovered that not all green bean casserole recipes are the same. After seeing people use different things over the years, I realized that I really did love this recipe. While this version takes a bit of work ahead of time, it's worth every second for the best results!

  • Parboil your beans: trim and cut the beans and place them into boiling hot, well-salted water, for approximately 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Prepare your bechamel sauce: add butter to the skillet and melt it down on medium heat. Add flour and mix it well. Gradually start adding milk, until all is incorporated and the sauce is smooth.
  • Make the cheesy sauce: once your bechamel sauce is done, remove it from the heat. Shred your Grueryre cheese and add it to the sauce mix well, until the cheese is melted and fully incorporated into the sauce. Season the sauce with freshly grated nutmeg, salt, and fresh pepper.
  • Make toasted breadcrumbs : add another pat of butter to a separate skillet and let it melt on medium-high heat. Add Panko breadcrumbs and then toss them with butter. Let them cook for a couple of minutes often mixing, until crunchy. Once done, set the pan aside.
  • Prepare your casserole: Preheat your oven to 375ºF. Using a casserole dish (9″x 13″ will work), add a little sauce to the bottom of the dish. Then add beans. Pour the remaining sauce on top of the beans. Top it with toasted breadcrumbs and more Gruyere cheese. Place into the oven and bake for 25 minutes. Remove, let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh herbs (chives or parsley) and serve.
